Reading Groups

For one of your activities in reading groups this week you will be reading a digital resource on an Asian country – South Korea.

1. Visit http://www.sunshineonline.com.au/ and type in the username and password. See board.

2. Click on the link ‘Discovering Asia’.

3. Click on the link ‘South Korea’.

4. Read through the chapters of the online book by clicking on the arrows in the bottom left corner or via the ‘Table of Contents’.

5. Answer the following questions as a comment to this post:

a) What different text types are included in the online book about South Korea? Why do you think there is a variation and not all the same one?

b) What are some similarities and differences between South Korea and the country you are investigating for your Getaway clip?

c) List 5 facts that you now know about South Korea.

    Dear miss May,
    I enjoyed this activity because I learnt a lot.
    1. Some different text types are narrative, report, procedure and fact file. I think that there are many different text types because there arre different facts that you can explain in different ways.
    2. Some similaritys and differences between Vietnam and South Korea are there population is both bigger than Australia. And some differences are that South Kora has a troditonal game that they play.

    Dear Miss May,
    I read the book and here are my answers.
    1. Different text types included in the text are narrative, report and procedure. There are different text types in the book because there are different facts that you can explain in different ways.
    2. Some similarities and differences between Thailand and South Korea are they have different currency, different languages and they both a a bigger population then Australia.

    To Miss May the book is written in a narrative, informal, report and a procedure. I think that there is more than one text because the book wants to tell everything about Korea

    1.The different types of texts are narrative,fact file and a report I think that it is all different because people don’t just want to know about a narrative they also want to know reports and facts about South Korea
    2. They are both in Asia they are in different parts of Asia
    3.Samsung is made in South Korea,neolttwigi were made for women to look what is going outside,teakwondo means the way of the hand and foot,the population of South Korea is 50 million and the border of the South and north is called the DMZ

    1. I think that the book has different types of texts because some people may what to read about facts and others what to read narrtive.
    2. A similaritie is that both countries are in Asia, and a differents is China has 1,401,586,000 people and in South Korea there is 50 million people.
    3. 5 facts I now know are the population is 50 million, the capital city is called Seoul, the currency is called South Korean won, kimchi is the national dish of South Korea and the flag is red,white,blue and black.

    1. Well one of the main text times is non fiction. Thier are many variations because it has how to make things and like all of those things.
    2. Some different things in South Korea to China is that there not that keen on martial arts, they don’t do a see-saw game. Or anything like that.
    3. The 5 facts I know about South Korea is that they so martiel arts, they like to play games, they have traditional cloths, they also have traditional games and hair doos.

The types of animals,foods,factories,culture sports and games.2.The difference between South Korea and India is they have different cultures and foods and sports and different buiness and company’s.3.1.     A. Information reports are in the text narratives are in the text and there’s different texts because it will be entertaining.
    B. South Korea have sports that are very different too us and they have similar story’s.
    C. South Korea invented Samsung South Korea mostly live in villages South Korea invented twikondo they have war with North Korea South Korea speak Korean.

    2: the differences are the holidays and customs.

    3: that they have a differant alabet to Mongolia, games ( the see sore game looks fun ) and that are both quit big – big city’s!

    B. They both have massive amounts of people. They have the same kind of business
    C. Women used to be unable to go outside very much. They have a lot of population. it is one of the worlds major economies. They invented taekwondo. South Korea and North korea had a war.

    -The diffrent text types are, fact file, naritave, report and procedure wich are all different kinds

    -South Korea is very diffrent because, Indonesia don’t have very many strict rules with the girls, also have not had a war with there cuntery.

    -That the boy who brought the tree of the old man, and then the old man want and they don’t know where he went. Also how samsunge had a really big business at South Korean, and how taeykondo is very big sport in South Korea as well.
